I recently hung up a gallery wall in my girls’ bedroom and didn’t want to damage my walls while doing it. Find out how I quickly and easily hung up their art without using nails on our textured walls!
I honestly stink at hanging pictures and art on walls and it drives my husband bananas. I am the girl who “eyeballs” it and will nail several holes before getting the “perfect” spot. Do you relate to this? I am pretty sure I am not the only woman out there who does this too! But this time around, when making an art gallery wall for my girls’ bedroom refresh, I wanted to find the best way to hang pictures without using nails and do it damage-free.
So in my search, I was so excited to find a product that allows you to hang pictures, damage-free and that works on textured walls too. The product that I am speaking of is by no other than the king of all damage-free…..Command!
I am sure many of you have heard of Command. You basically can’t go through Christmas without using one of their products. I love their command hooks and use them every year to hang my stockings and wreaths, but never thought to use them for hanging wall art or pictures!
What the heck have I been waiting for?
Clearly Command knew that there was a market out there for women like me who are running around with hammers, making way too many holes in walls. I felt like they developed this product specifically for me!
So I gave it a shot and let me tell you, it worked! And not only did it work, but it’s been 2 months since putting up that gallery wall and the art has not budged one bit! And I also did not damage my walls or create any holes in the process. Hallelujah!

How To Hang Pictures With cOMMAND stRIPS
The process of using these strips is very straight forward and easy. I was so excited to not have to take out my hammer and mess up my walls one bit! Here are the steps on how to use these amazing things:
Step 1: Clean your wall.
Step 2: Separate the strips and press them together until they “click.” They recommend not placing the strips on any soft or paper surfaces, so make sure it’s on the frame!
Step 3: Remove the liner behind one side and press it onto your frame. (They recommend using 4 per frame).
Step 4: Remove the remaining liners and press your frame firmly onto your wall for 30 seconds.
Step 5: Remove the picture frame off the wall (grabbing from the bottom of the frame and not straight off) and press the strips on the wall firmly for 30 seconds.
Step 6: Let the strips on the wall set for 1 hr.
Step 7: Place the picture frame back onto the strips until they are all clicked back together.
and you are done!
Best Way To Hang Pictures Without Nails
This was seriously the easiest and best way to hang pictures without nails. And I love that my kids can’t just grab the frames off the walls (you got to use a little bit of muscle to pull them off). And my husband is happy to hear that I didn’t damage our walls in the process!
So if you are thinking about putting up a gallery wall or wanting to hang decor up in your home, I say give these command strips a shot! They are seriously the best invention ever.
