If you are in the market to buy designer paint like Benjamin Moore, but want to save money, I am sharing a trick that will help you get designer paint at a more affordable price tag. Check out how to save money on designer paint below!
We are in the middle of doing several DIY accent walls in my home and have been searching around for the best white paint for them. Unfortunately, most of the white paints that were highly recommended and that I wanted to sample were all Benjamin Moore!
Benjamin Moore is considered a designer paint that carries some of the most beautiful paint colors. Our project is on a budget and I needed to find ways to keep my costs down. The cheapest line of Benjamin Moore paint is their Ben(r) Interior Paint line for $42.99/gallon.
The Trick to Get Designer Paint For Cheap
The Trick: Buy it at your local Home Depot or Lowes!
When I recently discovered that you can buy Benjamin Moore paint at a more affordable price at your local hardware store, my mind was blown! Learning this paint trick has literally changed my life forever and I needed to share it will you all too!
How to get designer paint at home depot or lowes:
Here is what you will need to tell the paint person:
- The name of the paint color you want or the sku number.
- What finish you are needing (I did eggshell for our interior walls).
That is literally it! Home Depot and Lowes do not advertise these different designer brands on there paint walls, but there computer system allows them to make them.
I bought 4 different Benjamin Moore paint samples (which they made in their Behr line) for around $3.50 each:
- Swiss Coffee
- Simply White
- Chantilly Lace
- Revere Pewter
When buying the full gallon, I had the color Chantilly Lace made in Home Depot’s Glidden Premium Paint line for $19.97 in eggshell. If I had bought directly from Benjamine Moore, it would of cost around $42.99. The Glidden Premium Paint line is great because it includes the paint and primer together, another cost and time savings for me!
If you don’t have a Home Depot close by you, Lowe’s can also make Benjamin Moore paint colors, which you can have made in their affordable Valspar paint line.
That’s how you get designer paint for cheap!
