If you are wanting to learn more about the white paint I am obsessed about, check out my review below of Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace!
If I could paint all the interiors of my home white, I totally would! I love the crisp and bright feel of a room and the fresh palette it offers. We moved into our house two years ago and all the walls were beige (very warm and not my favorite choice). And it has been my mission to slowly incorporate more white paint into each space. And the white paint that has stolen my heart is Benjamin Moore’s Chantilly Lace.
What Color Is Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace?
According to Benjamin Moore’s website, Chantilly Lace is described as:
CHANTILLY LACE OC-65: As delicate and refined as the lace it was named after, this crisp, clean white evokes images of pure silk, soft linen and simpler times.
Chantilly Lace is a popular white paint amongst decorators, interior designers, and homeowners because it is a bright, neutral and pure white! It works great on walls, ceilings, and trim, making it a very versatile paint color.
So if you are looking for a white paint that is purely white with minimal undertones, this color may be for you!
Painted My Girls Room Chantilly Lace
One of the spaces in my home that I painted Chantilly Lace was for my girls’ bedroom! I love how it instantly brightened their room and made it look so airy. You can check out a tour of their room HERE.
Is Chantilly Lace A Warm White?
No. Chantilly lace is not considered a warm white and has no traces of yellow undertone, which is exactly why I picked it!
Because my home is so beige and warm-toned on the walls, I wanted a white that had absolutely no warm undertones. I didn’t want to see any yellow! But if you are wanting a warmer white, Benjamin Moore’s Swiss Coffee is a great creamy white without looking yellow.
Painted Our Entry Wall Chantilly Lace
My husband and I did this DIY Vertical Paneled Wall and had swatched a few white paints and decided Chantilly Lace would be the one! It matched the white doors and white trim in our house perfectly, which was another main reason why I choose to use it in our house.
What Undertone Does Chantilly Lace Have?
Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore is described to have blue or gray undertones, making it lean more neutral/cool. But when you put the paint on your walls, you do not see any gray or cool tones. It looks clean, beautiful and bright!
And what I love about Chantilly Lace is that it’s a crisp white without being too sterile. It creates a very bright and airy feel in a room.
What Would YOu Paint the Trim?
One trick I learned about painting with white is that you can use the same color for the trim, wall, and ceiling. And adjust the “finish” for each area to give the room a cohesive yet structured look.
If you love Chantilly Lace for your home. You can get:
- Eggshell finish for your walls
- Satin finish for your trim.
- Flat finish for your ceilings (especially if its textured ceilings).
Decorating With White Walls
Sometimes people associate white walls with feeling cold and not cozy, but there are tricks you can do to warm up those white walls.
I love adding wood furniture, brass and gold frames, colorful art, wicker baskets, plants and other decorative pieces to play off the white walls. Having white walls creates a clean canvas, where you have the freedom to layer various pieces. When you think about it, anything goes with white!
If I had green walls in my house, I would have to be more careful and thoughtful in the pieces I added to the room. Whereas white gives you more freedom to play with decoration and designs.
Benefits Of Painting Your Walls White
There are definitely some benefits to painting a room or an accent wall white! Not a single day has gone by where I have regretted using white paint in my home. Here are just a few benefits to mention:
- It gives you a blank canvas to decorate and design with and leaves room for creativity.
- White paint creates the illusion of “space” and makes rooms appear larger.
- White is classic and timeless and will probably not go out of style any time soon.
- It is clean and minimalist and reduces your mind with the feeling of “stress” or “clutter.”
- White symbolizes peace and purity, which psychologically wise makes you feel good!
Not everyone is a fan of white walls (boring maybe?), but I think the benefits outweigh the cons!
